The TPU foam material for marine and surface floating cables is a special thermoplastic polyurethane material. After chemical foaming modification, it has a lower density, usually around 0.70-0.80 g/cm³, which enables the cable to float in the water.
This material has the characteristics of high strength, low density, low water absorption and corrosion resistance. It is suitable for marine, aerospace and other fields, especially deep-sea equipment, and can provide the necessary buoyancy and ensure the balance of equipment.
Lightweight: Through chemical foaming modification, the density of TPU can be reduced, making the cable floatable.
Wear resistance and good mechanical strength: TPU material itself has good wear resistance and mechanical strength, suitable for cable sheath.
Hydrolysis resistance and chemical resistance: TPU material can resist hydrolysis and erosion by various chemicals, and is suitable for use in marine environments.
UV resistance and mildew resistance: After special treatment, TPU material can resist the invasion of ultraviolet rays and mildew.
Good resilience: TPU material can return to its original state after being subjected to force, which helps the long-term stability of the cable in the marine environment.
In practical applications, TPU foam materials can control the density and buoyancy of cables by adjusting the amount of foaming agent, while improving the comprehensive performance of the material by adding antioxidants, compatibilizers and anti-hydrolysis agents.
