·EPDM wire insulation materials that meet the requirements of JIS C3301, and 600V and below EPDM wire insulation materials and sheath materials that meet the requirements of UL62.
·Oil-resistant EPDM cable materials for 3.3-10kV submersible pumps.
·Medium-high voltage and high-rubber content EPDM cable materials above 10kV.
EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) is a synthetic rubber with excellent performance. Its application in cable materials is mainly due to its excellent heat resistance, weather resistance, aging resistance, chemical corrosion resistance and excellent electrical insulation performance. These characteristics make EPDM an ideal choice for insulation and sheath materials for wires and cables.
Excellent heat resistance: EPDM cables material can be used for a long time in high temperature environments, the long-term allowable working temperature of the core can reach 90°C, and the short-circuit thermal stability allowable temperature can reach 250°C.
Weather resistance: EPDM can resist environmental influences such as ultraviolet rays, oxidation and temperature changes, and is suitable for outdoor use.
Chemical corrosion resistance: EPDM is resistant to a variety of chemicals, including acids, alkalis, detergents, etc.
Electrical insulation performance: EPDM has excellent electrical insulation performance and corona resistance, and is suitable for the insulation layer of wires and cables.
Cold resistance: EPDM can maintain good flexibility even at extremely low temperatures.
Flame retardant properties: EPDM Can improve its flame retardant properties by adding organic halogen flame retardants or inorganic flame retardants.
In the selection of cable materials,the type and formula of EPDM have a direct impact on the performance. Vinyl content,diene type and content,rubber molecular weight and distribution are all factors that need to be considered when designing cables for specific purposes. Generally,the higher the vinyl content,the better the dielectric and mechanical properties,but the processing performance and low-temperature flexibility may deteriorate. As cable materials, low molecular weight,semi-crystalline polymers with low Mooney viscosity and vinyl content between 65% and 75% are suitable.
In general, EPDM cables are widely used in the wire and cable industry due to their excellent performance, especially in situations requiring high temperature resistance, weather resistance, chemical corrosion resistance and electrical insulation performance.
